WGBH Development Internship
WGBH is public service media for New England - on TV, radio, the Web, and out in the community.
We're the single largest producer of PBS prime-time and online programming, and a major source of
programs heard on public radio from coast to coast. We're a pioneer in educational multimedia and
in media access technologies for people with hearing or vision loss.
Department Description:
The Development Operations department is part of the Local Marketing and
Development Division, which enables the WGBH Educational Foundation to carry out
its mission by raising necessary funds from individuals, corporations, and foundations for
current program support and special projects for TV, Radio and the Web. This
department is the operational hub for the following fundraising and marketing areas:
Membership, Leadership, Major Gifts, Corporate Gifts, Special Events, Member
Development and Services, Volunteers, Premiums and Incentives, Auction, Matching
Gifts, Web Marketing and Pledge. Operations works closely with all of the areas of
Development to help them meet their fundraising and database needs.
Internship Description:
The Development intern will be assigned various marketing/operational projects and
administrative tasks including, but not limited to:
- Processing financial donations made to the WGBH Development department
- Working to operate and maintain the WGBH fundraising databases
- Assisting with WGBH Television and Radio On-Air Fundraising Campaigns
- Helping with fulfillment and correspondence for WGBH premiums and incentives
- Assisting with ticket fulfillment (seat assignment and mail coordination)
- Coordinating projects with WGBH Volunteers
- Other duties as assigned
Skills Preferred:
Must be a mature, detailed-oriented individual and should have excellent organizational
skills and the ability to take ownership of his/her projects.
WGBH Intern Requirements:
- WGBH internships are open only to students enrolled in an accredited college or university.
- Internships are unpaid.
