Sponsorship Research and Local Marketing Internship
Department Description:
The Sponsorship Research team works closely with the Local Development and National Underwriting
(SG/PTV) Sales, Marketing and Client Services teams to help ensure corporate funding for
WGBH Local and National properties by fulfilling a wide range of research duties.
Local Corporate Sponsorship is responsible for building relationships and securing
sponsorship from the Boston-area business community in support of media and program activities at WGBH.
The SG/PTV is responsible for securing national sponsorships for the majority of WGBH's national series
and a variety of PBS producing entities.
The position may also work with the Local Corporate Sponsorship team.
WGBH Intern Requirements:
- WGBH internships are open only to students enrolled in an accredited college or university.
- Interns must receive college credit for the internship.
- Internships are unpaid.
College Major Desire:
Communications, Marketing or Research
Skills Preferred:
Candidates must have proven computer/desktop publishing skills, meet constant deadlines, well
organized, professional, creative and able to juggle projects simultaneously. Proficiency
with Powerpoint (expert in graphs), Excel, Word and other Macintosh applications required.
Must be an analytical thinker a plus and a desire to learn about the media industry and Marketing.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Use Powerpoint (expert in graphs), Excel, Word, In-Design and must be familiar with MACs.
- Assist in the creating new Research one-sheets and Marketing library of materials.
- Will be taught additional applications such as Scarborough, Trac Media and PC Listener
- Work with Research Director and Associate on on-going research projects such as analyzing sweep data, year end reviews of key series, MRI Reports, prospect research initiatives and Current ROI research duties.
- Work with Marketing Director on a variety of projects including updating one-sheets, revising media kits and creating sales and marketing pieces.
