WGBH Radio Internship
WGBH is public service media for New England - on TV, radio, the Web, and out in the community.
We're the single largest producer of PBS prime-time and online programming, and a major source of
programs heard on public radio from coast to coast. We're a pioneer in educational multimedia and
in media access technologies for people with hearing or vision loss.
Department Description:
Responsible for the day-to-day operation of WGBH 89.7 and All-Classical WGBH
(heard online and on 89.7 HD2), as well as the development, planning and shaping of programming for
radio broadcast; including classical, news, jazz, Celtic, folk and blues. Oversees production of
music projects and on-air promotion for all radio programming.
Internship Description:
WGBH Radio is seeking a music and/or communications student intern to assist with several ongoing
production projects in classical music, including live studio performances, post-production work on
studio and remote concert recordings, and preservation of archival material. The internship is
designed to give the student experience in digital editing, cataloging, and database management.
A minimum of 6 hours per week is required.
Skills Preferred:
Qualifications include knowledge of classical music, familiarity with Mac OS, and enrollment in a
college or university that provides course credit for the internship.
WGBH Intern Requirements:
- WGBH internships are open only to students enrolled in an accredited college or university.
- Internships are unpaid.
