WGBH is public service media for New England - on TV, radio, the Web, and out in the community. We're the single largest producer of PBS prime-time and online programming, and a major source of programs heard on public radio from coast to coast. We're a pioneer in educational multimedia and in media access technologies for people with hearing or vision loss.

The WGBH Internship Program is designed to help students and the Foundation meet our mutual educational goals. 'GBH wants to provide students with hands-on experience through daily activities and assigned long-term projects.

Department Description:

WGBH's new project, PARALYMPICS 2012 (working title), will present in-depth portraits of Paralympic athletes, highlighting the amazing mix of ability and effort that creates competition - and winners - at the highest level. A production of National Programming, this project will be distributed, starting in January 2012 and continuing for 10 months, via the web and social media, seeking to showcase these remarkable audiences with a wide American audience for the first time.

Primarily, the intern(s) will be helping to gather stills and videos for use online and helping to populate our digital archives/library for the producers to use. The intern(s) will also be making contact with athletes and others in the Paralympic community.

Looking For:

We are looking for an intern(s) who has research skills, both online and through telephone contacts. Careful record-keeping and a good visual "eye" are critical. Good telephone/people skills are essential.
