NOVA Promotion Internship

Department Description: NOVA is the highest rated science series on television and the most watched documentary series on public television. It is also one of television's most acclaimed series, having won every major television award, most of them many times over.

WGBH Intern Requirements:

  • WGBH internships are open only to students enrolled in an accredited college or university.
  • Interns must receive college credit for the internship.
  • Internships are unpaid.

College Major Desire:

Liberal Arts major desired with focus on writing and external communications (Ex. Communications, Marketing, Business, History, Psychology, Anthropology, etc...)

Skills Preferred:

General office skills, good computer skills (Microsoft Office), strong online research skills, firm understanding of new media outreach tools (myspace, facebook, YouTube) and an interest in science, entertainment and the promotions preferred.

Required Skills:

The intern should have a strong enthusiasm for public relations, science and the entertainment industry. Candidates should have good writing skills, basic knowledge of MAC Microsoft Office, Photoshop and HTML programming, plus the ability to work 15-20 hours per week. Internships are offered three times per year -- during the fall and spring semesters and during the summer

Duties include but are not limited to:

This intern will support the NOVA publicity and marketing team by, assisting in the creation of the NOVA media clip report, dubbing DVD's for media outreach, utilizing interactive media tools for promotional opportunities, online research and supporting the Sr. Publicist with basic PR related administrative work.
