NOVA: Marketing and Communications Internship
WGBH is public service media for New England - on TV, radio, the Web, and out in the community.
We're the single largest producer of PBS prime-time and online programming, and a major source of
programs heard on public radio from coast to coast. We're a pioneer in educational multimedia and
in media access technologies for people with hearing or vision loss.
Department Description:
Now in its 35th year of broadcasting, NOVA remains unrivaled in bringing authoritative, innovative, and entertaining science documentaries to television; and committed to bringing in-depth science programming in the form of hour-long (and occasionally longer) documentaries - sharing the depth and breadth of science, technology, medicine, and engineering with a general audience. It is television's most-watched on-going primetime science series - with an average of 5 million viewers each week.
Internship Description:
Supporting the NOVA publicity and marketing team; Organizing and distributing weekly clips; Researching organizations; Helping with screenings and other events. Preferably 15-20 hours a week (flexible days.)
Skills Preferred:
Should have a strong enthusiasm for public relations, science and the entertainment industry. Good general office skills, computer skills (Microsoft Office, Photoshop), and online research skills (blogs, google, YouTube) are desired.
WGBH Intern Requirements:
- WGBH internships are open only to students enrolled in an accredited college or university.
- Internships are unpaid.
