WGBH Media Relations
Semester: Summer and Fall 2007
WGBH Internship Requirements:
- WGBH internships are open only to students enrolled in an accredited college or university
- Interns must receive college credit for the internship.
- Internships are unpaid
College Major Desired: Mass Communications, Public Relations or Journalism majors preferred.
Skills Preferred: Candidates should possess strong writing skills; f
amiliarity with Mac computers and major software applications (Microsoft Word, FileMaker, etc.);
ability to work independently on projects; and a basic understanding of administrative/office procedures.
Familiarity with public broadcasting and WGBH programs is a major plus.
Duties: The intern will provide assistance and support to the Media Relations
department. In addition to writing media advisories, event listings and press releases,
the intern will update media and community contact databases, post materials on the WGBH Press Room,
assemble press kits and complete other duties as assigned.
