Frontline Publicity Internship
Semester: Fall, Spring, and Summer
Description: Frontline is an award-winning
PBS public affairs documentary series which airs nationally Tuesday nights.
WGBH Internship Requirements:
- WGBH internships are open only to students enrolled in an accredited college or university
- Interns must receive college credit for the internship.
- Internships are unpaid
College Major Desired: Mass communications, journalism and public relations majors
preferred or individuals with a strong interest in publicity.
Skills Preferred:
Organizational aptitude required and understanding of office
administrative procedures; Familiarity with Macintosh applications and Mac-based programs a
plus; Familiarity with LexisNexis and Web-based resources; a team player who can juggle many
assignments at once and who shows attention to detail and follow through on assigned tasks.
Duties:
Assisting Associate Publicist with:
- Preparing publicity/marketing materials for distribution to press
- Creating targeted reporter pitch lists and researching targeted press opportunities
- Updating and maintaining media contact database
- Assisting with compilation of media clippings and reports
- Assisting with formatting press releases, transcripts and other promotional materials
- Helping out with administrative duties as needed, and helping with preparation of publicity events
