Special Events/WGBH Tour Program Internship

Department Description:

The eight members of the Special Events department manage the special events of WGBH, including the Auction, Wine & Food Weekend, Volunteer Programs, and all other special events.

WGBH Intern Requirements:

  • WGBH internships are open only to students enrolled in an accredited college or university.
  • Interns must receive college credit for the internship.
  • Internships are unpaid.

College Major Desire:

  • Education, museum studies/education, or related field preferred
  • Junior/senior in college required; master's student preferred
  • Interest in elementary or middle school education

Skills Preferred:

  • Teaching experience preferred
  • Strong customer service, organizational, and computer skills
  • Hours flexible; some evening or weekend hours required as needed

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assist with development of elementary and middle school tour for WGBH Brighton studios
  • Assist with docent training
  • Provide tours of WGBH studios (including donor/members, community group, school, etc)
  • Assist with scheduling docents for tours and scheduling group tours
