WGBH Design Squad Internship

WGBH is public service media for New England - on TV, radio, the Web, and out in the community. We're the single largest producer of PBS prime-time and online programming, and a major source of programs heard on public radio from coast to coast. We're a pioneer in educational multimedia and in media access technologies for people with hearing or vision loss.

Department Description:

Children's Programming is responsible for developing, producing and supervising WGBH Television Productions for children and families. Children's Programming is committed to creating and delivering the highest quality content on television that engages children and enriches their lives with new learning experiences while providing valuable resources for their parents, care givers, and families.

Internship Description: The Children's Programming Department is looking for a production intern for a new engineering series. The production intern will assist with production of a spin-off series of Design Squad, which we are filming in the Boston area. Intern duties will include logistics research, procurement of materials needed for our set, organization of project files and materials, and general office support. The intern will work both at WGBH and on our set - a garage workshop located in Woburn, MA.

Skills Preferred:

Candidates should be detail-oriented and organized. Some experience in documentary television production is preferred, but all candidates will be considered. Strong research and computer skills are essential, as is a willingness to help with all aspects of the production. Our ideal candidate would also have a car and be familiar with the Boston area. We are looking for a 15-20 hour commitment per week for the summer.
