WGBH Local Corporate Sponsorship Sales Internship
WGBH is public service media for New England - on TV, radio, the Web, and out in the community.
We're the single largest producer of PBS prime-time and online programming, and a major source of
programs heard on public radio from coast to coast. We're a pioneer in educational multimedia and
in media access technologies for people with hearing or vision loss.
Department Description:
The Local Corporate Sponsorship division is charged with securing
corporate funding from the Boston business community in support of
WGBH's local media operations, by raising awareness in the market place
of WGBH and PBS productions as a marketing solution.
Internship Description:
Assist sales reps with their responsibilities, including:
- Developing presentations to corporations and agencies designed to sell WGBH sponsorship packages that can include: television, radio, web, print, events, etc.
- Researching and identifying new prospects for solicitation
- Mining and analyzing data on new and existing prospects, including: media spending, staffing, and advertising
objectives - this can involve calling prospective companies and/or using internet research tools
- Monitoring competitive TV and radio market
- Updating and cleaning-up prospect data in a contact management database
Skills Preferred:
Prefer students currently enrolled in an undergraduate program for Advertising or
Broadcasting, with strong Excel and Powerpoint skills on both Macs and PCs.
WGBH Intern Requirements:
- WGBH internships are open only to students enrolled in an accredited college or university.
- Internships are unpaid.
