WGBH Academic Quiz Show Internship
WGBH is public service media for New England - on TV, radio, the Web, and out in the community.
We're the single largest producer of PBS prime-time and online programming, and a major source of
programs heard on public radio from coast to coast. We're a pioneer in educational multimedia and
in media access technologies for people with hearing or vision loss.
Program Description:
In the spring of 2010 WGBH will launch a weekly half-hour academic quiz
show for high school students in Massachusetts. This new and exciting addition to the
WGBH line-up tapes at the WGBH studios in front of a live audience and will be broadcast
across the state.
Internship Description:
We're looking for enthusiastic interns to work with a small, hard-working team
in a fast-paced production environment. Successful intern candidates have a genuine
interest in the successful outcome of the project and will support multiple facets
of the production on television and the Web to help ensure success.
Skills Preferred:
- Initiative
- General knowledge of broadcast media
- Familiarity with popular online social networking platforms
- Excellent written and oral skills
- Competence on Macintosh computers/Microsoft Word and Excel software
- Strong research skills
- Solid administrative management skills
- Strong follow-through and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in an open, collaborative work setting
