High School Quiz Show Internship
WGBH is public service media for New England - on TV, radio, the Web, and out in the community.
We're the single largest producer of PBS prime-time and online programming, and a major source of
programs heard on public radio from coast to coast. We're a pioneer in educational multimedia and
in media access technologies for people with hearing or vision loss.
Program Description:
Now entering it's third season, High School Quiz Show is an Emmy Award winning, fast-paced,
entertaining televised competition that showcases and rewards the academic achievements of high
school students in Massachusetts. Produced by WGBH, and hosted by local celebrity Billy Costa,
the series features questions in subjects such as literature, history, and science, as well as
current events and general knowledge. Building on the growing popularity and success of academic
competitions across the country, the series celebrates the pursuit of learning and fosters a
renewed spirit of school, community, and state pride
Internship Description:
We're looking for enthusiastic interns to work with a small, hard-working team in a fast-paced
production environment. Successful intern candidates
have a genuine interest in the successful outcome of the project and will support multiple facets
of the production on television and the Web to help
ensure success.
Skills Preferred:
- Initiative
- General knowledge of broadcast media
- Familiarity with popular online social networking platforms
- Excellent written and oral skills
- Competence on Macintosh computers/Microsoft Word and Excel software
- Strong research skills
- Solid administrative management skills
- Strong follow-through and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in an open, collaborative work setting
WGBH Intern Requirements:
- WGBH internships are open only to students enrolled in an accredited college or university.
- Internships are unpaid.
